Margins and such...

Hello all, thank goodness for forums like these!

For my A level coursework, I have had to produce a promotional
leaflet.

Now, on screen it looks fine, but when i print preview or print, alot
of things are cut off.

I asked my teacher if she knew how to do this, and she said no.
Terrible, right?

I can see most of it in Print Preview, but that's probably because my
default printer is a LaserJet that can print very close to the edge. All
printers have an irreducible nonprintable area, required for paper handling,
that is usually largest on the trailing edge (which in this case is the
right side of a landscape page, so your table borders are cut off on that
side). You will need to increase your margins to what the printer requires,
and I would suggest removing the table borders entirely; they're ugly and
unnecessary. I would also suggest vertically centering the text and graphics
in the table cells.

To find out what margins your printer requires, go to Page Setup and set all
the margins for 0" (or, in your case 0 cm). When you click OK, Word will
tell you that "one or more" margins are outside the printable area and offer
to fix them for you. Accept the offer and note the required margins. You can
either accept them or cancel out, but this will give you an idea of what to
shoot for.

FWIW, I would suggest that (a) Word is not the best application for this
type of brochure (it would be easier in Publisher), and (b) you would make
the job easier for yourself if you would use the "Book fold" option instead
of trying to create the pages out of order, and (c) if you print to PDF, you
can print borderless, but anyone who prints the PDF will either have content
cut off or will have to scale the pages to fit.
