Default Double-underline

How do you delete a double-underline in a table? I've already tried going
through Fonts, but that doesn't work. Help!

Is the "underline" a cell border?

If it really is a double underline, then selecting the underlined text and
going to Format, Font to remove the underline attribute should work fine.
IIRC, so will the keyboard shortcut, ctrl+shift+w.

I'm not sure, but I think so. I can go thru Word and add another
double-underline, but it looks like the one that's there is a permanent one,
if that's possible. I've tried everything to get rid of it. I even went
into "borders" and that didn't work. I'm truly stumped.

As I stated in my initial post, I already tried that.
