changing format default
I am running Excel out of Microsoft Office Pro 2003 under
Windows XP professional on a Dell PC. When I open a new spreadsheet / workbook, and type in an even number, the cells show no decimals. I would like the spreadsheets always to show 2 decimal places. I tried formatting a spreadsheet the way I wanted and saving it as Sheet.xlt, but when I opened a new spreadsheet, it had the old format. I would be grateful if someone would explain how to set and save the defaults. Thank you. Mark |

Save as Book.xlt, file type Template, in your XLSTART directory.
Sheet.xlt is the template for an additional worksheet added into a workbook by Insert / Worksheet, so it is also needed. Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England No email replies please - respond to newsgroup |
