Does anyone here convert Publisher files to Adobe?
Hi,
I have a user who uses MS Publisher & then she converts them to Adobe PDF. Normally when I see the user I can repair or fix Adobe as a new install & that would allow the user to resume converting Publisher files to PDF. Then a few weeks later it won't allow her to convert it at all & an error message pops up. The only work around that she has found with his is to close it from the top right corner before it will start converting to PDF. Using WinXP Pro, Office 03 & Adobe v8.1 Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance, PS. |

Yup, do it a lot actually. How is the Office file being converted? Are
you opening up the document in Acrobat and then having it convert or are you using the PDF Maker plug-in for Office? Regardless, what you should do is change the conversion settings in PDF Maker and Acrobat. There is a lot of options that can be turned on when converting. Such as creating bookmakrs, tagging, etc. Turn all that junk off in both Acrobat's preferences and in the PDF Maker plug-in. I would suggest using PDF Maker method. Of course you could always print to Adobe PDF and solve the problem that way. Have you tried using one of the PDF pseudo drivers? They have the advantage
of creating PDF files from any program that can print. So far I havn't found any snags with the 'Broadgun PDF machine' when creating PDF files from Word or Publisher.
