... I have inputted the the file you suggested for scanpst to scan but it tells me "the file does not exist". I'm using Outlook 2007 on a Windows Vista system. Any further help would be appreciated. On Vista, the default path is %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Outlook (C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook ) -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Hey there,
I hope you guys can help me as well. I have the nearly identical problem. -- Outlook 2007 -- VISTA Same error message. I can read where the location of the scanpst file should be in VISTA, but I cannot find the file. I even used the search function the computer for the file to no avail. I have rebooted and uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook 2007; same problem. When I try to open, everything goes along like it will open but it blinks off and the error message comes up. It will not even open in safe mode. It's driving me crazy. "Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: "Rick O." Rick wrote in message ... Whew after literally hours of searching around I found the file.
At least in VISTA the appdata is a hidden folder. So I went to CONTROL PANEL FOLDER OPTIONS I clicked on the View tab then in Advance Settings selected Show hidden folders. That way when I use the scanpst file I can browse to the file folder. Additionally the file path in the error window that pops up IS NOT where you actually find the scanpst application. The file in the error window is the file that is to be scanned when you run the scanpst app. Here is the location of the scanpst.exe app in Office 2007---- Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ folder "parshtr" wrote: Thanks, this worked nicely once I found where MS had the scanpst tool.
