Publisher 2003 - membership cards printing multiple name on one page
Hi,
I'm trying to create a membershipcard with publisher. I used a mail merge to create all the cards with different names and picuters. On the screen everything looks fine. I want to have multiple cards on one page with a total of eight per page. When looking at the print preview every card shows the same name. I read about the bug with the preview so I printed some pages. Now I get a page full of cards with the same name and then a page with the second name in all the cards and so on. What am I doing wrong? Maarten |

When you are designing your document, do you see a page of 8 cards or a single card? -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |

How are you inserting the pictures? Are you using the Catalog merge?

The problem also exists when I don't insert pictures but only insert the names with the merge wizzard. Are you merging straight to the printer or to a new publication? (BTW "wizard" is the correct spelling, unless you're an inept wizzard at Unseen University in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series) -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |

Maarten was very recently heard to utter:
I'm merging into a new publication. You need to merge directly to the printer. If you merge to a new publication, then when you print it's the same as printing a set of labels manually created. Publisher cannot print multiple pages per sheet, only multiple copies of the same page (the exceptions being with Mail Merge on labels and booklet printing). The alternative way to do this is to set up a page the size of your sheet of labels, and use the Catalog Merge with that. -- Ed Bennett - MVP Microsoft Publisher |
