Why doesn't money sign show in mail merge?
Dollar amounts don't get dollar signs by default. That is just a formatting
issue. If you have a currency amount coming out of a mail merge, simply type the dollar sign just before the merge field. -Scott "Dressmaker" wrote in message ... When I merge my database (using Excel) the money appears as text. How do I get the money to appear with the money sign? |

Why doesn't money sign show in mail merge?
Excel does not actually store the number with the dollar sign and Word only
sees the information in the way that it is stored in Excel. To see how to format currency fields, see the "Formatting Word fields with switches" item on fellow MVP Graham Mayor's website at: http://www.gmayor.com/formatting_word_fields.htm -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis.
