How to view a reply to a question
I posted a question and was notified there is a reply waiting, but I only see
a blank white screen. How can I view the response? Perhaps you could reply directly to my email. Thanks. |

How to view a reply to a question
This is the response sent to you by Jeff Boyce. You may have caught the news
group answer whilst the news group was refreshing, try looking again but as I have said, below is his response. Regards Mike B Are you saying that the table definition has changed from a Yes/No field to a text field? Or are you saying that what is displayed (?where, on a form?) is changed? Regards Jeff Boyce Microsoft Office/Access MVP -- Advice to Posters. Check your post for replies or request for more information. Consider providing some feed back to the response you have recieved. How to view a reply to a question
Hi Rumple,
You likely see a blank screen because 1.) You posted your question using the web portal and 2.) You clicked on the link in the e-mail that reads "Click this link to continue receiving notifications for this thread", which is a perfectly normal response. It's really too bad that the inept company that Microsoft out-sourced support for the web portal is too dumb to correct this silly error. When this happens in the future, try clicking on the first link shown in the e-mail, which reads "Read the Response". That will usually always bring it up correctly. At that point, you can either click on the Reply button, or the link in the upper right "Notify me of replies". In either case, if you are not currently logged on, you will get prompted to enter your logon credentials. How to view a reply to a question
There appears to be general problems if one logs in via
microsoft.com/communities. When one receives an email advice that someone has replied to their question, the link to the reply always fails. The work around is to log into the site first and then log on and then click the link in the email. Note: it only occurs when the person posted the original question. If one replies to a question and they get an email advice of a further reply the link in the email works fine. Also Logging on to the site with UserId/password has a problem. It appears to fail with somehing like cannot find or something but if one goes back and re-enters the url to the site then one is in fact actually logged on so UserId/password works and the system is just not returning the user to the site where they were when they log in. The above problem has been evident for a few weeks now. -- Regards, OssieMac "Rumple41" wrote: I posted a question and was notified there is a reply waiting, but I only see a blank white screen. How to view a reply to a question
MikeJohnB:
Thanks for your reply. The answer to your question is: The table definition changed. I changed it back, but after exiting and reentering, it had changed back. I figure there is some other place where this change can be controlled, but am at a loss to find it. All help appreciated. Thanks.
