Limits for the MMULT function
-----Original Message----- Hi, I'm trying to multiply 2 matrices of 75 rows x 75 columns using the MMULT function, but Excel shows the #VALUE error... I reduced the number of rows and columns of the matrices to 72 and it worked!!... I already verified that all values on the matrices were numbers, but it seems that the function doesn't work for a 75x75 matrix... Does somebody know if there are some limits for the MMULT function??... Thanks.. . here is a link that you can copy and paste if it does not let you just click it that explains the Maximum Array Size in Microsoft Excel Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;166342&Product=xlw hope this helps, Chris |

If the OP really needs to perform matrix multiplication on matrices beyond Excel's limitations, s/he should consider downloading and installing Laurent Longre's MOREFUNC.XLL add-in, freely available at http://longre.free.fr/english/ It contains a MMULT.EXT function which handles matrices up to 256-by-256. -- To top-post is human, to bottom-post and snip is sublime. |
