Default Avoiding conflicting appointments in Outlook

I know that Outlook will warn me if I'm about to make an appointment that
overlaps or conflicts with another appointment by putting a warning in the
dialogue box. However, is there any way of marking out time in the calendar
so that you cannot make further appointments or override this? I'm thinking
of a way whereby Outlook would simply refuse to save the appointment because
it would conflict.

Haven't had a response to this one, so I suppose it is not possible. Shame,
because this would make life a lot easier. Something to consider for the
next version of Outlook, perhaps?
