Default mail not deleting, deleted mail box not accessable

since this morning, my deleted mail folder is highlighted, but i cant open
it. i cant delete mails either from any other folders. i can move them
around, but not to deleted - that just opens up a "create new mail".

i have been into identities and deleted both inbox.dbx and deleted items.dbx
- no luck. i have run SFC, put the disk in to restore any damaged DLL's - no
luck. i have even reinstalled IE6 with OE6... still no luck.

oh i have done a virus scan and run adaware too.

i have W2K pro.

any ideas?

thanks )

Check your post in OE General. Note that there was a server problem that did
not send posts from those using the Web Interface to those using Outlook
Express as a newsreader for about two days now. Hence the delay.

thanks for replying ).

in the meanwhile i fiddled about cos i was getting mails in (spam yuk) and
not being able to delete them.

my solution, should this happen to anyone else, was to find the windows
folder holding my mail identitites and copy it to another folder.

i then deleted the windows identity folder (the one with a load of numbers).
started OE again, so brand new and shiny!

go to file/ import/messages... point to the just made folder and find the
outlook express bit and it imports all messages and folders, just as they
were.

i'm not sure about the server problem as having anything to do with it. the
only thing that did happen that was different, was when i shut down the
previous night, windows wouldnt close, so i just switched off with the one/
off button... maybe it got OE in a tizz?

anyway, all better now ).
