Installing Office Home and Student 2007 and keeping Outlook 2000 andAccess 2000 from Office 2K Pro
Posting for a friend. He is currently using Office 2000 Pro on a
Windows XP SP3 system. He would like to upgrade to Office 2007 Home and Student 2007 in order to upgrade Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Should he uninstall those components from Office 2K Pro before installing the new ones from Office 2007 H and S? He would like to keep using Outlook 2K and Access from the older suite. Will he encounter any problems by having components from Office 2K and Office 2007 on the system at the same time? TIA for any replies. |

Installing Office Home and Student 2007 and keeping Outlook 2000 and Access 2000 from Office 2K Pro
The Office Home and Student will only replace the same programs from Office
2000. Access and Outlook will survive just fine. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. ALWAYS post your Outlook version. [snip] Thanks for the reply Milly. Only question now is should he uninstall O2K components (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) before installing new Office 2007 Home and Student? As I recall, the method to do that is through the Control PanelChange, correct? |

Installing Office Home and Student 2007 and keeping Outlook 2000and Access 2000 from Office 2K Pro
Afraid I wasn't clear enough in my OP. This is not an upgrade version
of Office 2007 H & S, it is the full version. That is why I'm asking if I need to un-install the Office 2000 Work, Excel and PowerPoint before installing the Office 2007 ah & S Word, Excel and PowerPoint modules or will they just upgrade the exisiting components? What is the preferred method? |

You can keep them both but it is not "recommended". There is an option in
custom install, I believe, to keep old versions around. If you choose default install it should remove the old version, but it has been a while. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928091/ Earle "Desert Rider" wrote in message ...
