Default Imported calender items all say "copy"

Okay so here is the deal. I'm importing my calendar from Outlook 2007 on my
desktop PC to my newly installed Outlook 2007 on my laptop computer. The
Labtop PST is EMPTY. When I import my calendar .pst file from the desktop
computer about 50% of the items are all labeled with the words "copy:"
infront of them. I've never had this happen before. I did think that I'd just
delete the calendar in Outlook on the laptop and just start over but I cant
seem to find out how to do this either. Please note, NO DUPLICATES are in
either calendar... somehow in the process some of the files but not all are
labeled as "copies". Short of uninstalling Outlook and starting over how do I
correct this?

There was no need to use Import in the first place.
Simply connect the pst-file you copied over via;
File- Open- Outlook Data File...

You can then set it as the default via;
File- Data File Management...

After restarting Outlook, you can disconnect the empty pst-file.
