Viewing Images (photos) with Picture Manager
YW & thanks for posting back.
Now, please tell me if you were referring to MS Office Picture Manager (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...001171033.aspx) or some other software (e.g., HP). -- ~PA Bear James wrote: I uninstalled IE7 and the problem no longer exists. Thanks. Too bad because I really liked some of the new features with IE7, especially the tabs. Thanks again! Yes, uninstall IE7 RC1 and see if this behavior persists. -- ~PA Bear James wrote: IE7 is and has been the default browser and the problem persists. The version of IE7 that I have is "IE7.0.5700.6 - Release Candidate". Is this the beta version that I should uninstall? Ah... If you make IE your default browser in Set Program Access and Defaults, does this behavior persist? If you uninstall IE7 Beta (which automatically returns you to IE6), does this behavior persist? -- ~PA Bear James wrote: In reading through other discussions ..... I believe that my problem began when I upgraded to IE7. OK. I took out the trash, however, still cannot open photos. Now only my most recent internet image icons appear. I notice that in Picture Manager new folders are automatically created in the Picture Shortcuts frame each time. If I delete these folders the icons go away but then are created anew, with all the latest image icons the next time I try to open a photo attachment in Outlook Express. What I can't understand is why everything works well with Outlook but not with Outlook Express. -- James E "PA Bear" wrote: Try "Taking Out the Trash" (more often): http://aumha.org/a/health.htm (Section 4). When deleting Temporary Internet Files, always accept the option to delete all offline content. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE/OE, Security, Shell/User) James wrote: When I click on an attached photo Picture Manager open, however, the image that I clicked on does not appear in Picture Manager. Instead I see the icons only from the graphics of the last internet site that I visited. If I just open Picture Manager I can correctly open a photo stored on my hard drive. Also, I have no problem with Picture Manager when I open a photo using Outlook 2003 (not Outlook Express). This is very frustrating. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Thanks. Most unusual (and I'm wondering if one of the Add-ons running in
IE7 RC1 was the real culprit). -- ~PA Bear James wrote: Yes, MS Office Picture Manager was the reference. Thanks again. YW & thanks for posting back. Viewing Images (photos) with Picture Manager
This is my exact problem on several machines that have IE7 installed. I have
not uninstalled yet in hopes of finding another solution. Can the add-ons in IE7 be disabled one at a time to determine which is the problem? Will MS address this issue with furture releases of IE7? Thanks for the post!! If no other solution shows up soon, I'll dump IE7. Many thanks! "PA Bear" wrote: Thanks.
