"antispam needs to restart outlook express"
For no particular reason the message "norton antispam
needs to restart outlook express to continue" pops up when I go into OE. IF click on OK it is replaced by message "a folder could not be created. a folder name must contain at least one character". OK this and the first message appears and sequence repeat over and over. Cannot therefore get into account and cannot close down OE without ctrl+alt+dlt. Any help appreciated. |

"antispam needs to restart outlook express"
I'd uninstall Norton completely and reboot the computer. Then reinstall it
and do not select the Antispam options. See if that fixes it. You're not alone in having problems with Norton's Antispam process. -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. "antispam needs to restart outlook express"
Thanks for the suggestion Jim. I tried the reinstall but
even thro the custom route there did not seem to be a stage to deselect the antispam option. I therefore tried switching off antispam when installed thro the main noton security window but the problem when opening OE still exists. I don't think AntiSpam can be de-selected, Chris. It's all or nothing.

It's just another reason I no longer use anything from Symantec. Peter Norton is happily spending his bucks he got for selling the company, but those who use (or misuse) his name are doing him and their customers, a real disservice. -- Jim Pickering, MVP-Outlook Express Please reply only to newsgroup. |

Microsoft PC Safety Help Desk suggested using System
Restore in Safe Mode (F8 at boot up - no networking) back to a Restore Point before the problem started. My problem is finally fixed! after 2 months of struggle. (Luckily I had an old enough Restore Point) (Symantec Help Desk could only suggest what you tried ie. Turn Off / On Norton AntiSpam) Good luck. -----Original Message----- "Chris" wrote in message ...
