Different Versions of MS Office
My old computer's motherboard fried on me last Sunday. So I bought a brand
new computer. I put the other hard drive from my old computer into my new computer and made it a slave. My Microsoft Office 2000 on my old computer worked great and was registered. The new computer has Microsoft Office 2003 on it and it is a 60 day trial. I tried to double click on the Office 2000 icon and I get an error message. “This application is not installed for this user.”. Do you know what I should do? I want to keep the older version that I have. I can not remember what I called the older computer since it was 3 years ago. I can not find my Install CD. Any help would be great. email: |

None of your programs on the slave (old) HD will work unless you reinstall
them. When you install a program it drops files in various locations, other than the program folder, and puts entries in the win registry. Since you now have a new win installation none of these entries / files are available untill you reninstall. If you wish to reinstall programs to the same location (slave) you will have to do a custom installation as by default they will be installed to C: And no, you wont be able to boot to your old (slave) win installation "JCM" wrote in message ...
