Default Username/password error on my account only

I administer an Exchange2003 environment and wanted to also allow POP3
access, so I enabled that on the server. Now, I can set up any other users
to receive their email via POP3 in Outlook Express with no problems - they
get it just fine. But on my account only, (all settings exactly the same as
the others, even on the same computer), I keep getting:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was
rejected. Account: (My Account), Server: 'exchange.(mydomain).com',
Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Logon failu unknown user name or
bad password.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error
Number: 0x800CCC92

I've double checked all my settings on both the server and client end, (full
domain admin rights), and can find nothing different than the other users.
Any ideas on what else to check? Anti-Virus makes no difference.

Thanks for any suggestions.

John

I would remove the account from Exchange and OE and then add it back again.
See also if you can telnet to the exchange server.

Default Username/password error on my account only

I can telnet the server and it accepts my username but not the password.
Odd, because the password is valid and works for everything else connected
with my account.

I'm not going to worry about it too much - creating my own pop3 access was
only for testing purposes. As long as pop3 is working for those that need
it, I'm OK...

Exchange server

That indicates its not an OE issue then.

IMO you are wrong and DO need to "worry" about it because it indicates
something is not as you need/want/think it to be. But, that's your decision
obviously. You can repair it at your leisure now, or maybe later under a
lot more pressure from a user.

I'd start by deleting and recreating the errant account just in case it's
corrupted, and then go from there.

Just my 2 cents
