Default autosave drafts

Can anyone please tell me if you can get emails to autosave frequently? My
Dad is pretty new to pcs and is doing his best but keeps accidentally
deleting his emails. I don't know how often emails are saved to drafts
normally but if I could change it to save every few mintues that would be a
good thing. Otherwise are there any freeware/shareware programs that would
run in the background, are easy to use and would accomplish the same thing?
Thanks
And if anyone has suggestions I need to set this up ASAP

TIA

Sorry you're right, just desperate to try and get it sorted quickly.
