Links work on computer but not on network.
I'm building process maps. I'm using shape links to go to other maps. When I
first built them on my computer the links worked fine. Now that I've moved them to their own folder on the network they don't work. I did update all of the links and used an absolute address for their new location. |

It should work provided you have the proper permissions to the folders. Since
the files are no longer located on the computer you should be using the Address box. Enter the path to the share and include the name of the file with the extension. -- James W. Well, I have full rights on the network and I created the folder. I've been
using the address all along even when it was on my computer. I save off every visio file and then resave it as a web page, then I just browse and find the proper htm file for the link. When I hit the links I get an IE error stating: "Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site. File blah blah (ith a bunch of those %20's in between the words on the path) .htm Operation Aborted. I was at Service Pack 1. I applied Service Pack 3 and its working now. Thanks
for the feedback. It turned me on to the answer. "James W." wrote: You did not mention the part about saving the Visio drawing as a webpage. I just tested it with Visio 2007 on a Windows XP box using IE8 as the browser and it still worked. Before you save the file as a webpage do the hyperlinks work? I think %20 may represent blank spaces in your path’s name. What version of Visio are you using and what is the service pack level? There are a few issues that mention this type of error when converting Visio files to webpages however your issue seems to have more to do with the way IE deals with the path. -- James W.
