Office 2003 always configures when starting as non-admin
I've installed Office 2003 on an brand new install of XP SP1 machine
as local administrator. When I create another local account, USER, which is not an administrator, every time I run office, I get "Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003". I saw another article in the newsgroup and a note on microsoft KB that says that Office cannot be installed by non-admin users, but I've already installed as a non-admin user and get the same thing. If I take the local account, USER, and put it in the administrator group, when USER logs in, Office start right up. when I take USER out of the Administrator group, when USER logs in, office gives the error above? I'm sure there is a trick here, but just can't seem to find it. I don't want to set windows installer to always run as admin, since I want to keep the machines pretty locked down. Thanks -Brian |
