Virus Scanner Not Recognized
How can I force Excel 2002 to use the installed virus
scanner (eTrust EZ Antivirus) to catch infected macros? When I click Tools | Macros | Security, the window says "No virus scanner installed." Please let me know. Thanks in advance. |

Virus Scanner Not Recognized
Jack,
This is a known issue with AV manufacturers that don't support the API. Check out the article at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=282207. There is no way to force the use since the developers of the AV did not intend on it ever calling this API. Newer engines by the company may or may not have this API call enabled. -- Chris Nicholas, MCSE "A man may fail many times, but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame someone else." --Knox Manning "Jack Mills" wrote in message ...
