Hyperlink to a PDF file?
I am working on a large spreadsheet and want to format files to open PDF
files that correspond to the file name. Here is the format I am working with... =HYPERLINK("[file:///W:\Litigation\Roche\1. ROCHE - Dianne working\US\Roche Qui Tam\Doc. Production - 03-11-04\PRQT\Pdfs - PRQT1 - 46998\]=D8587[.pdf]",D8587) I need to insert the value from cell D8587 into the path on the drive to be more efficient, and need to use the .PDF so that it opens automatically. Right now it only opens the main directory. Any ideas? Alex Hall |

Hi Alex,
You don't need the square brackets for non Excel file. Simply use concatenation to compose your filename. http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel....htm#hyperlink --- HTH, David McRitchie, Microsoft MVP - Excel [site changed Nov. 2001] My Excel Pages: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/excel.htm Search Page: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/search.htm "Alex Hall" Alex wrote in message ...
