Default Hyperlinks missing from Visio web pages

I have a relatively simple org chart (created with Wizard from an MS Access table) with hyperlinks that work great in Visio but not at all when I save them as web pages. I have checked the MS Knowledge Base and there are a couple of items describing this problem - but none of them seems to apply to the problem I am experiencing.

I am using 2003 Professional, Windows 2000, IE 6, all on the latest fix levels.

The problem with the hyperlinks exist before I even load the pages onto a web server - i.e. simply saving them as .htm onto my C drive means I am loosing the hyperlinks.

Any thoughts?

Appears I have to manually update each of the links Visio generates, then my web links work.....not too impressed ;-)

Also, I noticed that when I change the name of a tab that I previously used to specify a hyperlink, the hyperlink does not get updated with the new tab name. I reckon this would be a good piece of functionality to be added?

Hi Rose,

What sort of hyperlinks did you have on the shapes? Are these page
references? Or were there external urls that were not working on the web
pages?

Unfortunately, if you change pages, you will have to update the page
references. You're right, that would be a good feature to add. Were the
links broken in Visio as well, or just on the web pages?

Andy, the hyperlinks are links to shapes that Visio creates when I let it create the org chart from a table in MS Access (some 400 names). All I specify are the table field names and my custom shape names, the rest I leave to Visio to do.

Visio generates Sub-Addresses for me in the format page/shape (e.g. Page-5/Sheet.16), and seems to translate these into Blanks (or "#" ?) in the HTM file - i.e. links are not working.

If I remove the "/Sheet.16" in the above example, the links then work fine in the HTM file. Visio links still work as well then - though obviously, after this change I only get a link to the page, not the shape on the page (which I can happily live with).

Alas, after I decided to give my pages some more meaningful names, so that the "Go to page" index in the HTM file contains something userfriendly, I had to re-do all the hyperlinks again........but it's done now! Apart from having Visio do this automatically, it would also be quite nice if there was an option to specify which page name Visio should assign during the creation of the pages - e.g. the Name of the Manager at the top of the relevant page, or the associated department name
