Default Spanish dictionary in Office 2000

I'm having to reinstall Office 2000 after a system fault, and can't get
a Spanish spell-check on my (English) XP SP3 system. I did have it
working before, so I've obviously overlooked something.

The Spanish keyboard works, and Word allows me to set Spanish as the
language for a document. I think I've accepted all the relevant install
options.

I'd be grateful for a pointer to a checklist to help resolve this. There
doesn't seem to be anything relevant in the help files.

Hi Tony,

If you open a new Word document and use Tools=Language is there an 'Abc'
logo next to the Spanish Proofing Tools?
If not, then use the Microsoft Office choice in Add/Remove Programs in the
Windows control panel, Add/Remove Features to set the Spanish Proofing tools
to 'Run from my computer'

If listed in Word, is Spanish listed as active in
Start=Programs=Microsoft Office=Microsoft Office Tools=Set Language ?
