Backing up the .mdb automatically
Hello.
Does anyone know how to create a macro that will automatically backup copy of the .mdb that you are working in at the click of a control button on form? If not in a macro any other way would be ok too. I would like my customers to be able to click on a button in the mdb or "even" a shortcut on the desktop to a batch file that will automatically backup the .mdb to the root of C:\. I wouldn't mind either way. Your help is greatly appreciated. Iram/mcp |

You cannot backup the currently active database.
Depending on what version of Access you're using, you should be able to use MichKa's TSI SOON (Shut One, Open New) database add-in at http://www.trigeminal.com/utility.asp?ItemID=8#8 (I know it only mentions Access 97 and 2000, but I believe it should work with Access 2002 and 2003 as well) -- Doug Steele, Microsoft Access MVP http://I.Am/DougSteele (no private e-mails, please) "Iram" wrote in message ... About using the Tools database utilities backup database function? This
is done while the DB is running, no? Is there a way to then create a command button as the OP described? I haven't quite been able to study macros in Access yet, so I'm looking for help, too! Thanks!
