access my A: drive. When I attempt to save a document
within Word, I get this message. Microsoft Word can not
load speech regonition files. An error occurred.... Would
you like to repair this feature now? When I select YES, I
get a Windows Installer Error 1635 message. I have no

What version of Office are you using. If I assume it is Office XP, then try
the following steps.

Try referring to the following article to install Alternative User Input.

Q282486 OFFXP: Prompt to Install Speech Recognition After Upgrade to RC1

Does the problem persist?

2. Also refer to the following article to install the latest Alternative
User Input Update.

Q316127 OFFXP: Office XP Alternative User Input Update: January 24, 2002

Hope this helps.
