symbols
When I insert a prime sign from the symbols menu, it appears in the document
as expected. When I print the document the symbol isn't there and an empty box is in its place.

Check in Printer Properties if there is a setting for "Use Printer fonts" If
there is, make sure it is unchecked. -- TedMi
