Visio 2003 down saving to 2000

Default Visio 2003 down saving to 2000

Hi
Every body says that u can save 2003 files in 2003 to a
2000 visio format. But if u try to save it to a 2000
format it wil only allow u to back as far as 2002 ?? Can
u pls help I need to down save 2003 files to 2000 and
with the 2003 its not possible to do this

Without trying it myself, I seem to remember the following:

I believe the trick here is that the file format didn't change between 2002
and 2000, so if you save as 2002, 2000 users should be able to read it.

There are features in 2002 that 2000 won't understand (like line/fill/text
transparency), but they had planned ahead in 2000 so that there was already
room in the file for saving such data. It just gets ignored by the older
version.

Give it a shot, anyway,
