Out of memory messages can occur when there is a corrupted file and
processing goes round and round demanding ever more memory to complete
the process. Given you are downloading mail to your inbox then a
corrupted inbox could be the problem. How large is your inbox? Are you
storing large numbers of messages there or do a number of messages there
come with large attachments.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings
and verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is
checked and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You
may need to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make
certain that the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is
not checked. Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is
selected and then select View, Choose Details and check before Name,
Type, Total Size, and Free Space.

In Outlook Express Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder and write
down to the path. Using that information enter Windows Explorer and
locate inbox.dbx and note it's file size. Also check whether there are
similarly named files like inbox(01).dbx, which is another sign of
corruption. The higher the number the newer the file.

I would move all messages in your inbox. In Outlook Express create a
new folder by placing the cursor on Local Folder and select File,
Folder, New. Give the folder a name e.g. AAInbox. Copy all messages from
the Inbox to AAInbox. Close Outlook Express.

Reopen Windows Explorer and delete inbox.dbx. A new inbox.dbx will
automatically be created the next time you open Outlook Express. The
chances are your problem will have been solved.

Rather than delete inbox.dbx, why not create a new Identity? Then you will
have a new Inbox and folders.dbx.

Ron

A corrupt identity could be the problem. The OP put the emphasis on
downloading so I thought the logical place to start was the inbox. It
could be the problem is occuring whilst executing an automatic Send and
Receive on Start Up setting.

An Out of Memory message using Outlook Express is far less common today
than it was 10 years ago. I tried to research 0x80070003 but drew a
blank trying to establish a generic meaning for the error code. Most
reports in Google refer to problems with Windows Update.

Gerry, this fixed it. Thanks. I had a corrupted spam file. Since the
first messages to come in were spam, I got the error. I changed my default
save folder and created a new one. It automatically started importing all
the files from my default to the new and that is when it choked on my spam
file. I deleted it and norton recreated it in the new save folder. All is
well ... Thanks.

Disable or uninstall Norton Anti-Spam, else you're going to run into the
same (or worse) problems in the futu OE does NOT play nicely with any
anti-spam application/component.

PS: Also disable NAV's email scanning.

General OE Caveats:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working
offline". More at http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- Do not cancel Automatic Compacting, should it occur, and do not attempt to
close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if Automatic Compacting
is taking place.

- Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It can cause
corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and provides no additional protection:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm

QP
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.

Default attempt to allocate memory failed

It sounds as if there's a lot of worry about memory. That complete loss of
energy. Not to delete or attempt to allocate memory of this because it
doesn't exsist . There's memory that were selling still is really having to
brake into or use a key when no value is this it's sold for it and selling
it is all that could be all they're worth if that May be a solution would be
to give or let them get that would relocate and this might get other
unwanted files out of the way ,then they would maybe happy and the memory
can be upgrade in the areas where you can use it better.
