Default Defaulting to wrong address in 'From' field

Hi, i have a small problem that i hope someone can help me figure out.

It is this;

Although i have the correct default address set in Accounts, for some reason
whenever i reply to someone (who has sent it to my default account) it
always wants to use another account, in the 'From' field.

It's not a huge problem, it's a case of checking and changing before i hit
send, but of course, sometimes i forget. It'd be nice to work out why it's
doing it and fix it.

i'm using Outlook Express 6 and iE 7 (tho it did it before i installed iE 7
so i don't think it's that) and running XP Pro SP2 (updated).

Many Thanks!

The Default account only applies to new messages. Replies and Forwards
use the same account that the original message was downloaded via.

What is probably happening is that you have one server POP3 mail account
fed by multiple e-mail addresses. In that case, any account in OE could
download the messages and whatever one happens to do that will be used
for replies. You can see what account downloaded the messages by adding
the ACCOUNT column to the Inbox (View, Columns).

What you need to do is go into Tools, Accounts, Mail, Properties,
General and Uncheck the Include this account when receiving mail for all
of these alias accounts EXCEPT the Default account. That way the
default account will download all the mail.

Thanks for the reply, Michael. Followed your advice, and although it wasn't
*exactly* that in the end, your advice did help me find the solution. It
turned out that my account settings were wrong (after switching ISP recently
i changed settings) and the pop3 settings for the default account were set
to collect _only_ my ISP mail account, and not the pop3 where most of my
mail comes through.

i'm now getting my mail and it's showing the default addy as it should now,
largely thanks to you. Much appreciated!
