Default Cannot format width of bar graph

I create a bar graph with three bars per date (a bunch).
However, the area that the chart attempts to place these
three bars is so tiny that all I end up with is three
black lines (it's so small it is showing only the outline
of the bar, not the color). There is a HUGE gap between
the bunches and I cannot seem to narrow this gap. If I
could fill in this space, the bars would be visible. I
have tried changing the "gap width" to zero, the "offset"
to zero and the "overlap" to zero.

Help!

Catherine -

Right click on the chart, select Chart Options from the pop up menu,
click on the Axes tab, and change the option under Category axis from
Automatic (or Time Scale) to Category. Excel thinks you want to use the
date values for your category axis, and leaves spaces for every day,
even if you only have data intermittently.
