Default error 0x800ccc19

Hi bp,

The error is likely caused by the message scan feature of your anti-virus
program.

Start by disabling message scan.
Confirm that the correct server names are in the mail accounts properties.
Try sending and receiving.

In some cases it is necessary to re-enter the server names, your user name
and password.

You can try re-enabling the message scan, but your PC will still be
protected if not used. If you have both outgoing and incoming message
scanning try using only incoming.

I am getting the above error. I can send e-mails, and the computer
knows how many e-mails I have coming in, but cannot fully download
them. It gets stuck.
My POP3 server is not responding. Wghen I try to reload IE6 I get a
message that some of my installation files are missing. I tried to
create a temporary folder of "uninstall" without any good result.
Clearly I may well be barking up the wrong tree. Any suggestions
welcome.

I receive some emails but not others. When I send an email to

myself
the computer tells me I have recieved an email but does not display
it. I also tried the following without solving my problem:

OL: You Receive Time-Out Error 0x8004210a or 0x800ccc19 When You

View
a POP3 E-Mail Account with AntiVirus Software Installed
Applies To
SYMPTOMS
When you try to check your Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) e-mail
account, the e-mail server may return one of the following error
messages:

The operation timed out waiting for a response from the receiving
(POP) server 0x8004210a
-or-

A time-out occurred while communicating with the server 0x800ccc19
CAUSE
This problem may occur when the following conditions are true:
You have Norton AntiVirus 2003 or Norton AntiVirus 2002 installed.
You have Scan incoming Email and Scan outgoing Email turned on in
Norton AntiVirus.
Note This problem may also occur when you use McAfee software
products.
WORKAROUND
To prevent this problem when you use Norton AntiVirus and Outlook

or
Outlook Express, turn off e-mail scanning in Norton AntiVirus:
Quit Outlook or Outlook Express.
Start Norton AntiVirus.
Click Options. If a menu appears when you click Options, click

Norton
AntiVirus. The Norton AntiVirus Options dialog box appears.
In the Internet section, click Email.
Click to clear the Scan incoming Email and Scan outgoing Email

check
box.
Click OK.
Close Norton AntiVirus.

Hi bp,

Are you using any message rules?
What anti-virus program is being used?
