Default 'Crash' experience?

I recently lost my XP-home OS and had a local shop rescue files and reinstall
Windows, upgrading to XP-pro at the time. A couple of times now, Outlook
Express has simply vanished from the screen and tray (instantly closed
itself, I guess), always during the process of attaching a file to an
outgoing e-mail. OE restarts okay, but the message-in-progress has been
lost. Retyping the text and attaching the file works fine next time, of
course. Any ideas of what might cause OE to just 'collapse' every now and
then?

If you're using the Main Identity, create a new one, set up the account in
it then test it. If all goes well, import the mail into the new Identity
then delete the old Identity. What this will do is create new dbx files and
registry settings that you can test with.

Plus, clear the Temporary Internet Files folder (check the box to delete
offline content) as well as the Temp folder. OE uses these.
