Default Chg. default "save to" location for attachments

Hello,

I'm certain that I'm not the first to ask, but can anyone tell me how to
change the default location for saving file attachments? I'm running OE6
with W-XP Pro.

Any help appreciated.

Randy

Download and run this file which allows you to specify the desired default
folder. Keep the script handy as you may well need to apply it again, when
Windows "forgets" the desired folder. Hopefully, this will be fixed in the
next update/upgrade to the program.

I'm having the same problem, and I downloaded this, but I
don't know how to "run" it since it's not an .exe file.
Do I just copy it to a folder?

Just double click the saved "oesaveas.vbs" file. A vbs file is an
executable file, just as a file that ends with .exe, .com, .bat, .wsh, .scr,
etc.

Oh .... sorry! I tried it, but Norton Antivirus said it was unsafe ... I'm
assuming they just do that automatically for any vbs script file, or did I
get a bad file?

You will probably have to inactivate Norton in that case or check with
Symantec to see if there is a way around it. The file in question is safe
to execute and has been used by many users. It's your choice.
