How do I remove this symbol from the start of my document
It is like a reverse P It appears at the beginning of the cursor of a blank document page in word

To some users these characters are extremely useful, for details see:
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Format...PrintChars.htm Use Ctrl+Shft+8 or the Show/Hide icon (on the Home ribbon or the Standard toolbar) to toggle the view of these.
