Formatting (General to Number)
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the number formatting from
General to Number in one shot? I have an entire column that is in general formatting, and I need to use a COUNTIF with a Greater Than function. Since its in General formatting it does not work. If I change all the cells formatting to NUMBER it still doesn't work. The only way it works is if I change the formatting to NUMBER and reinput the numbers. I have tons of worksheets with thousands of rows, there has to be an easier way. Thanks for any help you can provide. Tom |

Thanks for the quick reply, and that did work, but it changes all my numbers
to 1. I have to maintain the numbers that are there so they can be used in the calculation. "Niek Otten" wrote in message ... Hi Tom, Format an emty cell as number. Enter the number 1. EditCopy. LOL - Niek's fingers were just a tad quick off the mark there and he forgot a small (but rather
important to you) element in that you also need to check the multiply option. You can also just copy an empty cell and do edit / Paste Special / Add which will also coperce the data back to numeric. -- Regards Ken....................... LOL - I'm guessing it took you a day to build the PC and the rest of the week to download all the
OS updates once you got it connected. g -- Regards Ken.......................
