Default Hidden Objects in A2007

Hello,

I imported an A2002 database into A2007 and came upon the problem of a
missing table reference. I discovered that the table was hidden in the 2002
database data table and didn't get linked. I also don't see an option to
display hidden objects. I thought I did but can't find the option again.

Is this something new or a bug? Thanks for any help and God Bless,

Mark A. Sam

In Access 2007: Click the Office button, then Access Options, then Current
Database, then Navigation Options, and there it is at the bottom.
Obviously.

Go to:
Office Button | Access Options | Currnet Database | Navigation

Click the Navigation Options button.

Check the boxes for:
Show Hidden Objects
Show System Objects

Thank Allen. Do you know why hidden objects in the source database aren't
getting imported? I don't recall this happening before.

If you are anything like me, by the time you've found this option you've
been through *everything* else 3 times...

A useful learning exercise for the new Access 2007 user interface, thanks
Microsoft, I wasn't planning on doing anything else during that hour...

Unless you have Access set to show hidden objects it has never imported them.

I don't know about you or anyone else, but I don't see that the "Ribbon" is
any improvement over the older system The Navigation pane sure isn't. I
like to old datbase Window, not only becuase I am use to it, but I really
think it was a better design.

Both databases are set to show hidden objects, but I had to reset the hidden
property of a particular table to false for it to show on the import list.
I have never noticed this behavior.

I haven't decided yet. Obviously it gets easier as you get used to it, and
I'm much happier with the ribbon since I discovered how to hide it so it
doesn't take up half the damn screen! However, trying to find less-common
options is a real pain. Is it on the ribbon somewhere? Is it buried
somewhere under the Office button, and if so, where? At least with menus
you could just work through them systematically 'til you found what you
needed.

I'd also like to build a custom ribbon, but it looks like a real pain.
Haven't found a good "how to" yet, and I just don't have the time to figure
it out from scratch.

But, overall, I will suspend judgement until I'm more used to it.
