Mail Merge date and time fields using Word & Excel XP
The date and time formats keep changing to American settings - even though I have used the field switch code when doing a mail merge using data from an excel spreadsheet. My computer has English UK settings in all the right places so why does it keep reverting to an American way of expressing the date for example 05/21/2004 and the time keeps coming out of 9.30.00 AM - even though again I think I am using the correct code. This has been a long standing problem for me since upgrading to Windows XP and wonder if anyone knows any way round it. I notice even on this site the date is in the American format.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?SGVsZW4gRGV3c25hcA==?=,

If you haven't applied any of the Service Packs for Office XP please do so, and the problem should go away, as far as not being able to override the dates properly in mail merge. As to your system language, you probably have the wrong settings somewhere in the Control Panel. I'd start with "Regional"... Mail Merge date and time fields using Word & Excel XP
I too have this problem but after having tried to install
SP3 I get Error 1328. When searching for help on Error 1328 I am told it is an Office 2000 error and not Office XP. Any clues about installing SP3 or resolving Error 1328? -----Original Message----- Hi =?Utf-8?B?SGVsZW4gRGV3c25hcA==?=, The date and time formats keep changing to American settings - even though I have used the field switch code when doing a mail merge using data from an excel spreadsheet. Mail Merge date and time fields using Word & Excel XP
Hi Navrig,
I too have this problem but after having tried to install SP3 I get Error 1328. When searching for help on Error 1328 I am told it is an Office 2000 error and not Office XP. Any clues about installing SP3 or resolving Error 1328? It always helps if you quote the exact error message, as we're often not familiar with the numbers. And if you found an article, you should provide a link to it, or something, so that we can reference. When I search the Knowledge Base on this error, I turn up http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=315063 which does apply to Office XP.
