Powerpoint 2007 crashes when closing
Hello Rich,
Thank you for providing the crash signature values. They correspond to a frequently reported issue the PowerPoint users are encountering on Vista systems. The most likely cause is the current default printer driver settings in Vista. Could you share what printer make/model, driver version is specified for your default printer? Does the problem go away when you install and change your default printer driver to something generic provided with Windows Vista or Microsoft Office? Thanks, John Langhans [MSFT] Supportability Program Manager - PowerPoint |

Powerpoint 2007 crashes when closing
I have the same problem: sometimes when I close PPT2007, it crashes ...
I also have Vista (Ultimate), and am using a Laserjet 1000 as my default printer ... I cannot really say that it's systematical and I have no idea about the specific cause of the problem ... Powerpoint 2007 crashes when closing
In XP with versions of PPT prior to 2007 (and maybe 2007 too? too early to tell),
some COM add-ins would cause crashes at shutdown. There's a tool there from Chirag Dalal (scroll to the bottom of the page) that gives a very complete report of loaded add-ins. I'd run it on the client's computer: What add-ins are loaded? http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00655.htm I al also having the same issue with a clients computer. Seems to happen when closing Powerpoint. If I open Powerpoint 2007 with the latest updates and then make a change. The save it. When I close it saves the change but then says it had to close and ask me to restart. So even thoguh I closed it the program thinks it shut itself donw. Faulting application powerpnt.exe, version 12.0.4518.1014, stamp 45428035, faulting module ppcore.dll, version 12.0.4518.1014, stamp 454281a3, debug? 0, fault address 0x001af7b0. AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 12.0.4518.1014 AppStamp: 45428035 ModName: ppcore.dll ModVer: 12.0.4518.1014 ModStamp:454281a3 fDebug: 0 Offset: 001af7b0 It only happens when I have my OfficeJet Pro 7780 driver set as default. Does anyone have a solution for this ? My clients are tearing at me since I instlled Office 2007 for them. There is no new driver for the OfficeJet yet. Yes this is their main printer Any ideas would be greatly apprecaited. |
