New Contact Folder
I would like to create a folder to better organize my contacts. Main reason
.... I use ESET Security Suite and the Spam feature. I have emails that would not go to spam if I were to make a contact out of them, but then my contact list would be cluttered and chaotic. Many emails from eBay, HP, NewEgg and others often go to spam because the "before" @ is different, but the domain is the same and OE doesn't get a chance to apply the rules. These are addresses that I do not send email to. Is there a way to make a folder to put these in? |

You say you are using spam software and at the same time OE doesn't get a
chance to apply the rules. You cannot create a message rule to send these messages to either the Inbox or a user created folder? If not, I would 86 the spam program. Tools | Message Rules | Mail | New. Box 1 - Where the From line contains people {check it} Box 2 - Move it to the Specified folder & Stop processing more rules. Box 3 - Click on the blue words Specified Folder and select the one you created, (or the Inbox). Enter each address as they are sent and click Add. Do this for each address one at a time. Move this rule to the top of the list. In general: Have all rules that divert mail to folders first. Delete it from server next. All others last. Make sure that every rule also has Stop processing more rules checked, unless that option is grayed out. Rules are applied AFTER spam filter gets it. So, it doesn't matter how the
rules are made. Until the spam filter, all messages were fine, but I was using CA Anti-Spam. Didn't want to pay to renew when this was included with ESET Security Suite. [The other two posters were just spamming your post]
OE has never liked spam programs. The only thing I can suggest right now is to remove the spam program and then use the rules. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP [Mail] Imperial Beach, CA "JustUs" wrote in message ... Thanks for the response Bruce.
OK - OE doesn't like spam apps. BUT ... is there a way to create a folder that would hold those addresses that would generally clutter my regular contacts and hold those "really not spam" emails as contacts? I know I can make a folder to hold contacts, say for a specific mailing I would like to send, but it does not remove them from the contact list. Thanks again, Don "Bruce Hagen" wrote: [The other two posters were just spamming your post] OE has never liked spam programs.
