Default Embed an Excel Document

I am trying to embed an excel document that has some activeX controls in it,
in a powerpoint presentation which I can do but I would like the excel
document to be functional in show mode so the user can select options from
the drop down activeX control in the excel document that is embedded. I embed
the excel activeX controls because I want their selections to link to another
excel workbook as a score key. So I'm basically using the powerpoint to ask
questions and they select an answer from a drop down menu from an embedded
excel document which is linked to another workbook that acts as an automatic
score key.

Any idea how to make an embedded excel document functional in Show mode?
