Hi
you can link the cells in these spreadsheets to a differetn workbook. Try the following - open your file with the 2 unsued tabs - open the source file - goto tab 5 in cell A1 - enter the equation sign '=' and select with your mouse the cell A1 from the other file - hit enter and copy this formula for as many cells as you like - repeat for tab 6 - close the other file and save your 'main' file -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany jdengel wrote: Ok If I have excell file open with 6 tabs 4 are used can I make the 5 and 6 tab load another excell file on those 2 tabs I use a few file togather and want to compact them... but I need to let them as a stand along file beacuse others use these files also...... Hi there thanks for the help so far.
That put a link but I need the file to open in that tab so I can work on it also, to make changes.... I have about 8 excel files with 3-5 tabs on each sheet and would like to combine them to one file yet saved as separate files so that others can just change the single file... is this possible?? Thanks john "Frank Kabel" wrote in message ... Hi you can link the cells in these spreadsheets to a differetn workbook.
