Shape Control
Using Visio for a floor plan has me in a state of fustration.
When creating a wall, the shape takes its own size... Adjusting the size in properties ie. 7ft. 5in. the shape will automaticly change to 7ft. 6in. ??? wtf... When I try grabing and moving the end point it seems that the shape will do every size but the one I want... Please help me with the proper settings so I have absolut control over the shape. |

Shape Control
Well, good news and bad news. First, you've noticed that Visio has a 3"
preferred increment step. So, you could go with the 6". But, you do have some options, and each has it's own "feature"... 1.) Go to the menu bartoolsruler and grid. In the popup menu, set grid to fixed, and min x & y size to 1 in. Bad news, the display no longer shows coarse & fine grids, just fine. Also, that's a minimum, so, as you zoom out, it could go to, yep, 3 inches. 2.) Draw your wall, with the desired orientation, e.g., vertical, horizontal. Then, menu bar View Size and Position Window. Enter the desired length of your wall. Then, right click, format, protection, and check width. This will lock the length. But, you won't be able to rotate the wall. But you can move it. 3.) One other option, menu barToolsSnap and Glue and turn off the snap to grid and ruler. You can play with these, especially under the advanced tab, and adjust the strength. Perhaps just disable snap to grid. Sorry, this isn't really much help. Wapperdude. "b_tisler" wrote: Using Visio for a floor plan has me in a state of fustration.
