Default Pivot table form

I have a pivot table form based on a query
the data contains names and course dates in the following format
Course
Gas Check Oil Check
Name Date got Date Expires Date got Date Expires
Peter 1-1-2007 1-1-2010 1-2-2008 1-2-2010

i am trying to make the form highlight the date expires field if it is less
than todays date

cant get the conditional format to work
must be missing something

any help would be appreciated
