Line spacing gone bonkers
The spacing between the lines suddenly went goofy in a publication.
All text boxes are now overflowing because of a very wide space between the lines. The style is Publishers default Normal with a 1.25 spacing, but looks more like 2.5. Clear formatting had no effect, but the style Job Title puts things back to normal. I have to select all in every text box and change the style. What gives? Mac |

Are you using a template?
Select a text box, edit, select all, format, paragraph, set your line spacing. The default is 1sp and the before and after paragraph setting is 0pt. On the toolbar select the Painter. Read this article to learn how to use it. Same with Normal. What font are you using? Verdana, but I have the same results with all fonts. Right now, I have a single text box containing a 14 point word. I cannot see anything except the lower 20% of the word with a very large space below. The word is pushed up into the top of the text box. The cursor size matches the font size and can be seen the same way. My version is 2002, so I don't see the baseline option, although that sounds like the problem. Why does "Job Title" correct the problem? Have you turned on alignment to Baseline Guides on? (Publisher 2003 only) |

Format the text box differently, right-click the text box, format text box, set
the vertical alignment to middle, change the text box margins to zero. Does this help? If you resize a text box with only one line of text the text is cut off. -- Mary Sauer MSFT MVP http://office.microsoft.com/ http://msauer.mvps.org/ news://msnews.microsoft.com http://officebeta.iponet.net/en-us/p...649111033.aspx "McPop" wrote in message ... Thanks Mary,
Found the problem. My after paragraph line spacing somehow was changed to 9. That pushed everything right out the top. Must have been the dog. Thanks to you and Ed for posting.
