Default Disable Media-Player-style vizualizations in PowerPoint Presentati

I recieved a powerpoint presentation comprised of several slides with audio
narration. However, when the audio narration kicks in I get weird Windows
Media Player visualizations displayed on the screen during the narration. I
can therefore no longer see the underlying slide. Is there a way to see the
slides and hear the audio narration at the same time? Is there a setting in
PowerPoint that I am missing? I am running Windows XP SP3, and I am using
Office 2003 trying to view an Office 2007 presentation. I have the Office
compatiability pack installed.

Any suggestions?
