Default Animation on Powerpoint

I am a beginner on powerpoint and looking to do live presentations using
powerpoint. I need to have animation and voice on these presentations. How do
I import the animation and voice (for example, showing a tree growing and
describing what is happening through the stages of growth). I have never done
this before and am very beginner. Any info or links for help will be
appreciated.

Creating a tree growing animation is not easy. A simpler way to do this is to
draw the different stages of growth on each slide. Then, to give it a better
transition, click Slide Show Slide Transition. Set it to Fade Smoothly and
apply to all slides.

Next, click Slide Show Record Narration. You can then record your
narration onto each slide. If you have already recorded narration using
external program, click Insert Movies and Sounds Sound from file.

Then will this happen to every slide?? I want to be able to show the life
cycle from birth to death on a slide while explaining it in a webex for
example. I am going to use many different features on the presentation I am
planning, will this affect that idea? How can I import a current animation
onto a slide? will it take and show as it does in the file?

Is the animation a video? If so, what format?

I guess that is a bit of my problem. I am not sure what it is, assuming a GIF
cause it is animated showing a hair folicle life cycle. I just need to know
how to add it to the powerpoint so when giving a webex it will animate while
i discuss what is going on!

when it is an animated GIF you have to choose "Insert / Picture / From
File". A video will be inserted with "Insert / Movies and Sound / Movie from
file". For Powerpoint videos are films as well as flash. An animated GIF is
a picture.

The best is first to find out which file extension your animation has; then
you can see if you have a picture (GIF) or a film (AVI, WMV, SWF or
something else).
