Don't display alert and update links...
I have (from the links menu): "Don't display alert and update links..."
checked but it still comes up with a message box: This workbook contains links to other data sources. - To update all linked information, click Yes. - To keep the existing information, click No. Any ideas |

You clearly have links to other sources. Try Tools / Options / Calculation / Update Remote References - off Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England No email replies please - respond to newsgroup |

Bill - hope you don't mind I've also (assuming that Mary sent you her
spreadsheet) sent you the one I've been having problems with. Thanks "Bill Manville" wrote in message ... The easy way to get rid of the message is Edit / Links / Startup Prompt / Don't display the message and DON'T update links. ...and I think my advice to switch off Tools / Options / Calculation / Update remote references was wrong in that case. If I am not mistaken they will update after the workbook has been opened; we were merely trying to prevent the update message appearing when the book was opened. Try using "Let user decide whether to display the alert or not." When I used
this setting, the alerts stopped appearing when I opened the workbook, but the data did get updated as I wanted. Mary "guy" wrote: Problem is that the links aren't updated...? This is a spreadsheet with a live feed that needs to be updated... |
