Which version of Publisher are you using?

Do you want the file size smaller so you can send it via email or post it on
a web? If so, consider turing it into a .pdf.

want it smaller so i can edit it - and then publish.
needs to stay in publisher format - using 2002. I am
working with a file that is 65 meg and no idea how it got
so big. Another person took an existing publisher file
and edited it - adding a lot of large pics - i removed
all the images and deleted the extra content...still too
big to manage...and only 8 pages. SOmehting does not
make sense

I've been working on a newsletter with Pub 2003 and the problem is still
there. I replaced a high resoution picture a few times and the filesize has
grown from a few megabytes to over 80 megabytes. It is very unweidy to work
with as saves take a long time. I'm hoping there is a fix or procedure that
can reduce the filesize back to normal.

"Chris" wrote:

Has anyone got a url that describes this being fixed in Publisher 2003
before I consider buying it, or even better something that describes a fix
in Publisher 2002?

I've got the same problem in Publisher 2002 (SP3 and Windows XP SP2). It
isn't the problem described in KB 279368 as the document is neither a
catalog, a web page, nor a newsletter and there's no extra content. I've got
a 4 page document that grows to 170MB as graphics are inserted. If I delete
the content from all four pages it goes down to 100MB. If I delete three of
the four pages it stays at 100MB.

Clever stuff!
