Do I need Outlook Connector if I ONLY want e-mail live.com e-mail?
I understand that Outlook Connector can be used to sync Contacts, Calendars,
Tasks and E-mails, etc. between Outlook and Office Live/Hotmail. However, if all I want to do is access Office Live E-mail accounts from Outlook, can I do this by adding the accounts directly in Outlook as POP3 accounts and entering the POP3/SMTP server names, logon info, etc. without having to install Outlook Connector? |

Yes, the Outlook Connector is not needed for POP3 connections to Live
Hotmail accounts. For the main differences see; http://www.msoutlook.info/question/332 -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "John Ch" wrote in message ... Do I need Outlook Connector if I ONLY want live.com e-mail
Thanks for the info. The article that you linked to states, "The current
version of the Outlook Connector supports sending out via the address of your Live Hotmail account only. If you have your own domain and have set aliases for your Live Hotmail account, then you cannot choose to send out with this alias instead but will always send out with your Live Hotmail address." Now, I'll be using multiple domains set up via Offlice Live Small Business and I'd like to get the e-mails from each separate domain into their own folders within Outlook. Is this possible without using Outlook Connector? If not, and I use Outlook Connector, then is it possible to send e-mails from Outlook with the address of each domain as the sender? Thanks "Roady [MVP]" wrote: Yes, the Outlook Connector is not needed for POP3 connections to Live Hotmail accounts. If these are separate mailboxes, then it wouldn't be an issue with the
Outlook Connector. To separate it without the Outlook Connector see; http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/sortmail.htm -- Robert Sparnaaij [MVP-Outlook] Coauthor, Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 http://www.howto-outlook.com/ Outlook FAQ, HowTo, Downloads, Add-Ins and more http://www.msoutlook.info/ Real World Questions, Real World Answers ----- "John Ch" wrote in message ...
